2014 non-subscription QB:: how to NOT display the update window every time QB opens.

Hello there, Alton.

QuickBooks Desktop 2014 has been discontinued by Intuit and no longer receives updates, security patches, or bug fixes. The recurring update window appears because the software is trying to connect to update servers that are no longer available, so update attempts will not succeed.

While basic offline tasks are still possible, compatibility with newer operating systems like Windows 10 or 11 is not guaranteed since support has ended. Internet-based features like payroll and bank feeds are no longer available, but upgrading to a newer version offers enhanced features and ensures seamless compatibility with modern systems.

To avoid these interruptions and ensure a more secure and seamless experience, we strongly recommend upgrading to the latest version of QuickBooks Desktop or switching to QuickBooks Online, which offers cloud-based functionality and ongoing support. Upgrading will provide access to new features, improved security, and customer support for any future issues.

Feel free to reply below if you have further questions. We’re here to help.
