Account Balances on Home Page

QB Balances.png

Hi - how can I change what accounts show in the Account Balances drop down? There are some I want to remove (they are still active) and a few I want to include.

Thanks!

Thanks for following up with the Community, lhauser.

If you're referring to your Top Icon Bar, it's possible you may've hidden it. You can unhide it any time you want.

Here's how:

  1. In the top menu bar, go to View.
  2. Select Top Icon Bar.

In regard to your Backup status missing from the layout, would you be able to provide further details as to what this was, and where it was visible previously? If you have any screenshots of the Backup status being visible, those could help too.

I'll be looking forward to your reply. Have an awesome Tuesday!

Hi there, lhauser. I can show you how to customize your home page in QuickBooks Desktop.

The option to change the accounts shown is unavailable in QBDT. However, you can change the Windows display in your account for you to remove some accounts that you don't want to include.

Here's how:

  1. On the top menu bar, click View.
  2. Select Open window list.
  3. Click View again, then click Left Icon Bar.
  4. On the left side of your home page. Click View Balances.
  5. Tick Customize view balances
  6. Select any account you want to add, then tap OK.

I've also added a couple of screenshots for your visual reference.

Furthermore, you can refer to this article for detailed steps on how to customize your displays in QBDT: Customize your QuickBooks display

In addition, you can click on this article on how to run reports in QBDT: Run reports in QBDT

If you still have concerns about managing your home page. Comment on the post, I'm always here to help.

Thanks for sharing that info. It makes no sense to me that I cannot choose which accounts I want to view. No more than QB doing away with the Scan feature as a method of attaching documents.

I followed your steps but now my layout changed. How do I get it back to the way it was before? I cannot see my backup status from this view, and I lost the top bar

Thanks....

I googled it and got it back to "normal"

I had already changed back to the top. When I did that, everything went back to normal.

Thanks!
