There are no new reported issues with this new link sales orders to purchase orders feature in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @B Gonz. I'm here to guide you through how to enable it.
The QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 24.0 R9 release enhances order fulfillment speed and improves product tracking by linking sales orders to purchase orders. Thus, you can turn it on.
You can follow the steps from the screenshot you've provided to switch it on, and QuickBooks will close any open windows to update the preferences.
You can then create a sales order and a purchase order from it. Once done, view the purchase order linked in the sales order.
Here's how:
- Go back to the same sales order created.
- A new LINKED PO column will appear that has a hyperlink to the purchase order associated with each line item. Double-click the link to access the purchase order.
- Repeat the steps to create and link other purchase orders.
Please note that when managing the same item from different vendors, split the quantities into separate line items. Each should have its linked purchase order. This will help you track your orders and ensure you're getting the right items from the right vendors.
Moreover, you can go to the Reports menu, then Sales, and select the Sales Orders Linked to Purchase Orders report to track all the linked transactions in a report. You'll want to customize them to show or hide columns or filter them based on a specific column.
To save its customization settings for future use, refer to this article: Create, access, and modify memorized reports.
Fill me in if you have more queries about this new feature or other tasks in QBDT. I'd be glad to assist you further.
