Bulk Move Transactions to another QB checking account

My business bank account was compromised in November.  I am just now setting up the new checking account in Quickbooks.  I have 3 months of entries (Dec - Feb) already in QB.  How do I move these from the old checking account to the new one?  The bank moved 3 transactions from the old to the new  when they created it (i.e. moved old balance to become the new balance).  There are about 25 entries in the old checkbook that belong in the new.
Any help would be appreciated.

That's exactly right, Cbalogh05. Updating those transactions individually is the best way to ensure your categories and vendor details stay perfectly intact. You can jump right into your register and follow the path mentioned earlier to get those moved over.

Bulk Move Transactions to another QB checking account

Hi there, Cbalogh05. While you can bulk-move categories, transferring transactions between bank accounts has to be done one by one. You can open the entries in your old checking account register and change the bank account to the new one.

Here's how to re-assign the bank account for each of those 25 transactions:

  1. In the Bank transactions page, select the old account from the bank dropdown.
  2. Click Go to bank register in the right corner.
  3. Locate the transaction and click it to edit.
  4. In the Account tab, choose your new checking account.
  5. Once done, click Save and close.

This thread remains open if you need further help with moving your bank entries.

Thank you so much.  The more I thought about it, I figured it had to be done for each transaction.

So, I just edit the transaction, right?
