How to setup a custom price for an item to a customer

I'm here to help you set up a custom price for an item for a customer, SriniS.

In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you can configure Advanced Pricing and utilize price rules to automatically adjust item prices on sales. However, this feature is exclusively available in the US version of QBDT Enterprise with a Platinum Subscription.

Here's how you can turn on the Advanced Pricing.

  1. Click Edit in the menu tab and select Preferences.
  2. Select Sales & Customers and choose Company Preferences.
  3. In the Custom Pricing tab, click Enable Advanced Pricing.
  4. Choose how QuickBooks handles price rounding.
  5. Select OK.

Once done, you can proceed to create price rules. Please refer to Step 2 in this article for a detailed guide: Set up and use Advanced Pricing.

When advanced pricing is enabled, you can utilize price levels to establish customized pricing for specific customers or jobs. This feature can be used on sales forms to adjust the price of an item.

To apply a price level directly to items on your invoice. Kindly follow the steps below.

  1. Click Create invoice.
  2. Go to the Rate column. Select the drop-down and choose a price level to apply to the item. Please note that the amount shown next to each price level is the adjusted amount of the item.
  3. Lastly, click on Save & Close.

Furthermore, I'll add this resource to guide you about the different reports available in QBDT and how to personalize them: Understand reports.
