Is there a limit on the number of tags you can create in qbo and can a single transaction have more than one tags??

I can share some information about how tags work, isofos.

Please know that there's no limit on the number of tags you can add or create in QuickBooks Online. You can also attach as many tags as you like to a transaction. However, you can only choose one tag per group. Here's how:

1. Click the + New button.
2. Choose a transaction.
3. Enter the necessary information.
4. From the Tags field, select the appropriate tag for each group.
5. When you're done, click Save and close.

Under tags it mention as 232 of 300 Tags used. So is there a limitation on number of TAGS??

Thanks for chiming in and providing that screenshot! I appreciate it!  Basically, a group can have no more than 300 tags. However, you can apply any number of tags to transactions, but only one tag per group.

a bit confused on your response. Please see the attached screen shot.

I have 14 Tag groups , Ex : Marriott , Westin. Etc.. 

and under Each Tag group I have created Tags. Ex : under the Marriott Tag Group I have created 74 Tags and you can see that in the screenshot. So over all I have 14 Tag groups and all together 232 tags under all the 14 Tag groups. So isn't the limitations mentioned is in the Tags not in the number of Tag groups. 

This is a bit critical to me as I have to create around 1000 tags under 25 tag groups. So want to know whether its possible to do in QBO

Thanks for coming back and providing another screenshot along with additional questions. I'd be more than happy to answer them for you. 

I can see how critical it is for your business to be able to create more than 300 tags. However, the "300" number that is mentioned is for the individual tags and not the tag groups. 

With that being said, you only have 68 more individual tags that you could create without hitting the limitation. You can always review our third-party apps to see if one could perform your request.

So then if I have 40 Tag Groups (which is the limit on tag groups I believe, am i correct?), and then have individual tags under each group, how many individual tags can I have per group?
