printing nested build assemblies when printing a top level build

Our Build Assemblies often require sub-assemblies to complete.  When we create a new (pending) Build Assembly for an item QB will automatically generate the nested sub-assemblies that are required to build the top-level item. When you print the new Build Assembly, only the new top-level assembly will print and not the new nested assemblies.  Is there setting that will allow both the top-level and nested build assemblies to print at the same time?

The attached screenshot is a new Build Assembly for our part number 4013-01-S. When I generate this it will created nested assemblies for 4013-01-PCAssy, 6442-PCAssy, and 6020 if we dont have inventory of these assembly items.  The nested assemblies are created and show up in the Pending Builds Report, but have to be individually selected and printed. It would be much easier if the 3 nested assemblies would print along with the main assembly.

I understand how convenient it is to see the nested build assemblies automatically added when adding new build assembly.

 

In QuickBooks Desktop, yes, you should select them manually to add them and print.

 

Thus, I recommend sending a feedback or a feature request. This way, our developers can look into it and consider adding this in the future to QuickBooks Desktop.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. In your company file, head to the Help menu at the top bar to choose Send Feedback Online and Product Suggestions.
  2. This action will open the QuickBooks Feedback window.
  3. Click the Type of Feedback drop-down to select Product Suggestion.
  4. Press the Product Area drop-down and choose which area in QuickBooks needs improvement.
  5. Then, enter your product suggestions in "Here is my suggestion" box.
  6. Fill in the remaining fields.
  7. Click Send Feedback.
