Import Banking Transactions with existing coding

Hi,

Im trying to import credit card transactions with existing coding in QBO.

Im familiar with how to just load them into the bank feed (link below), but I want to do the coding outside of QBO and import everything with vendor designations and GL coding.

Can someone advise?

Thanks

You've come to the right place for assistance, Paul.

I'll share some information about importing vendor designations and General Ledger (GL) coding in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Importing a vendor and General Ledger (GL) coding via CSV file isn't possible.

However, you can use third-party applications or an importer tool to bring the GL together with the vendor designations to QuickBooks Online (QBO). You can look for one through our QuickBooks App Store or directly find one that best suits your business interest on the Apps menu in QBO.

To do so, here's how:

  1. On the left navigational panel, look for the Apps tab.
    Capturex.PNG
  2. Select Find apps.
    Capturexx.PNG
  3. Choose an app and click Get app now to integrate.

Furthermore, I'm adding this helpful resource you can browse for you to be able to know how to export your reports to Microsoft Excel from QuickBooks Online: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

Please know that you're always welcome to reach out for further inquiries about managing and tracking your transactions. Assistance is just a few clicks away.

Which app would you recommend to achieve this purpose? Thats surprising - I used to be able to do this with native QB Desktop from like 8 years ago

Import Banking Transactions with existing coding

Hi there, Paul.

I appreciate you returning to this thread asking for further assistance in finding a suitable application to integrate into your QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Since Community is a public forum, we cannot recommend a specific app for importing banking transactions with existing coding. Therefore, visit our Find Apps page feature, suggested by my colleague, where you can find different apps that may suit your demands and incorporate them into your QBO account.

You can use keywords such as GL coding and vendor designations when finding the app or use the Browse categories on the Find Apps page. You may want to consider exploring additional search engines such as Google or Safari to find more apps.

Once you've found the right app, know how to download and manage the app by visiting this article: Integrate app in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, scan this material if you plan on transferring app ownership or disconnecting them in your QBO: Transfer app ownership or disconnect apps in QuickBooks Online and Accountant.

Don't hesitate to add more comments to this thread if you have further concerns about managing your third-party applications in QBO, Paul. The Community is more than happy to help you anytime. Have a good one!
