Request QBO add 4-4-5 Fiscal Calendar Year structure

Running a small retail store or restaurant is hard when you can't easily and consistently compare sales on a weekly or period basis from year to year. For a better explanation, here is a couple of links to articles about how this works in other tools.

If this feature is something that would benefit your operations, please reply and ask QBO to add this capability to their online solutions so that we don't have to use painful Excel or third party workarounds with QBO.

Request QBO add 4-4-5 Fiscal Calendar Year structure

Hello, jkeen2.

I'll jump aboard and address your concern about requesting a 4-4-5 Fiscal Calendar Year structure in QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks Online only allows you to select the first month of the corporate year, defaulting the year-end date to the last day of the preceding month. It determines the date range for data when running reports with the fiscal year range selected.

I recommend submitting feedback to our software developers regarding this function. They review the requests they receive when preparing future updates and features. Here's how to submit feedback directly from within your QuickBooks Online company:

  1. Go to the Gear menu and then select Feedback.
  2. Type in your feature request in the description box.
  3. Once done, click on Next.

If you need help utilizing the Reports feature to see your current financials, sales, and expenses, I'll add this guide for more details: Run reports in QuickBooks Online

Do you have any other concerns about your sales receipts, data, expenses, and reports? Let me know, and I'll address them accordingly.
