Rose, sadly I can't afford for my employees devices to hold company information, that is a risk I am unable to mitigate. Additionally, while they may scan the documents (receipts are not the only thing going in our quickbooks), it would look very tacky to a customer that I whip out my phone take pictures of my new big contract! Unprofessional! As well, when those pictures are taken on a mobile device, there is still a huge risk that the document that gets added into the transaction may not be appropriate. I still use v21, because scanning the document directly into the transaction avoids that possibility of inaccurate attachments being added to the transaction. Additionally, scanning separately, finding that file and adding to the transaction from a scanning software, is 1) inefficient use of time, 2), still a risk for appropriate document being added to transaction, 3) too many steps where errors can happen. We all wish we had employees that were perfect, however, the reality is, with too many steps to just scan a document into a transaction, mistakes are more likely to happen.
Lydia, this has been going on now for 3 years? There are 20 pages of complaints about this topic. The best Intuit can do is talk about this wonderful iphone app they gave us that all of us know is a joke. Sadly Intuit could absolutely care less about its customers.
This is useless for most of us who relied on the scan option. Our work load is doubled now.
@Tony60, not sure how much you've been following this thread but all you need to do is simply make a folder on your desktop that you scan all your QB related documents to, and then you simply drag the file into QB attachment area. I've set my scanner to open the folder where the scans are being saved, (I also have 4 screens, so it's a tad easier for me), and I just drag over the file. Its a tad less convenient, but hey, I'm making it work. Forget taking photos. That is just a breach of privacy on way too many levels and a stupid solution offered us by short sighted engineers at Intuit.
Cheers!
Clutterbug, I know you are trying to help but the bottomline is, scanning documents directly where we want them to go is the convience that we want back. However, you and I both know that will never happen again. This is simply a huge disappointment for us and a time consuming burden Intuit bestowed upon us. They took away the scanning features but the price keeps going up.
Quickbooks is going downhill. It is creating more work than it is worth with the lack of convenient scanning options and at the same time increasing desktop payroll subscription costs. I used to like the program. Not anymore.
You can explore to use a 3rd party payroll app to integrate with QB Desktop.
I have found integration with ADP payroll very satisfying
