Updated Items and recurring payments

I updated the item list with new prices. Will I need to update each recurring payment? Or will it automatically update because it is associated with that item?

Updated Items and recurring payments

I've got your back, @Blace!

After updating the prices on your item list, you'll need to change the amounts of each recurring payment. Let me guide you how.

  1. Go to the List menu.
  2. Double-click the memorized transaction you want to edit.
  3. Enter the new item price under the Rate and Amount column.
  4. Make any additional changes if needed.
  5. To save the modifications, click the Memorize button under the Main tab.
  6. You can choose to either Replace the transaction or Add a new one.
  7. Select Save & Close or Save & New.

I've added an article that can help you manage your memorized transactions better: Create, edit, or delete memorized transactions.

In case you want to set up an automatic recurring payment or check, you can visit this article for more guidance: Create an automatic recurring payment (check) to a vendor

I'm still ready to back you up if you have any other concerns besides updating the item price on recurring payments. Just leave a reply to this thread. Have a great day!

Updated Items and recurring payments

I don't have the memorized transactions set up. I use batched transactions and the recurring payment picks up the item. It won't allow me to change the item in the recurring payment window.

Updated Items and recurring payments

I'll share some insights about changing the item in the recurrent payment window, Blace.

In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), modifying items within the recurring payment window isn't possible. You can update them under the Lists menu.

By adjusting the item list with new prices or details, any modifications made to items will automatically reflect in the associated recurring payments. Also, you have the option to edit existing recurrent payments in QBDT.

Furthermore, check out this article to guide you in making proof of payments for products and services paid in full at the time of the sale: Create sales receipts.

You're always welcome to add a reply if you have other questions about updating your items or managing recurrent payments in QBDT. We'll be here to assist.
