20024 W2 form release

Hello,

I have a few clients that closed during 2024 and I would like to start printing their end of the year forms.

Does anyone know when the 2024 W2 updates will be released for desktop?

20024 W2 form release

I'd be glad to answer your question about the 2024 W-2 release update in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

For those using QBDT Payroll Assisted, you'll be able to view and print your W-2 forms starting January 10. If you're using QBDT Payroll Enhanced or Standard, the forms will be available to you on January 1.

To make the process easy for you, I've included a handy guide on printing your W-2 forms. You can find it here.

If you have any other questions about accessing or printing your forms, please let us know. We're here for you and ready to help with anything you need. Have a good one.

You can view and print your W-2 copy using QuickBooks Workforce, Carlos. I'd be glad to walk you through this process and explain this further.

If you're an employee looking to view and print your W-2, you can do so through QuickBooks Workforce. Once your employer has invited you and you've set up your account, you'll have access to your W-2 forms and any other documents your employer shares with you.

Here's how to get your W-2 in QuickBooks Workforce through the app:

  1. Tap Taxes. Or More, then W-2s
  2. Tap Download, then select the W-2 you want to view or print.

If you don’t have the app, you can access QuickBooks Workforce through your web browser. For step-by-step instructions on how to get your W-2 copy, please refer to this article: View and print your W-2s and other documents in QuickBooks Workforce.

Otherwise, please ask your employer to send you an invitation if you have not received one yet, so you can access your pay stubs and W-2s whenever you need them. After that, you will receive an email with a link to set up QuickBooks Workforce.

If you're an employer and you're looking to obtain paper copies of your W-2 form, please follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Employees menu, select Payroll Tax Forms & W-2s, then Process Payroll Forms.
  2. From the File Forms tab, choose Annual Form W-2/W-3 - Wage and Tax Statement/ Transmittal.
  3. Click Create Form and select all or individual employees to file.
  4. Enter the year, then OK.
  5. Select all or individual employees to print.
  6. Click Review/Edit to check each W-2.
  7. Submit Form and follow the steps to print and file the forms.

I'll also be adding these resources in case you or your employee finds a mistake on your W-2 or W-3, along with the key dates and a list of payroll documents you need to complete.
