Let's get you the report that you need to run Vacation and Sick Leave from last year.
You'll need the Payroll Detail Report to have this information. This report will break down their paychecks so you can add the totals and filter by an employee.
I've attached a link on how to get the Payroll Detail Report running.
Can you also tell me a little more on what you are trying to run as well.
I appreciate you for giving the Community a try with your question. Please don't hesitate to reach back out.
Accessing 'Vacation and Sick Leave' report for last year:
Running the Payroll Detail Report for the prior year and then scrolling to the bottom summary provides the information I was seeking. Or alternatively choosing the 'Summary' option in the dropdown.
That said, it would have been convenient for the report 'Vacation and Sick Leave' to include the typical date filter included on other reports.
How to attribute PTO hours used on 12/30/19 to 2019 instead of 2020 (pay period ends 1/3 so PTO used on 12/30/19 is being incorrectly attributed to 2020)?:
Do you have suggestions on how to do this?
QuickBooks Online (QBO) automatically carry over the employee's paid time off balances into a new calendar year. You'll want to learn more about PTO policy by checking out this link: Set up time off policy in Online Payroll.
Though, I'll take note of your suggestion about the report and submit this to our product engineers. From there, they can put the customer's ideas to work in the future.
You can check out our QuickBooks Blog to stay current on all the product updates and announcements.
We're a post away if you need anything moving forward. Have a good day.
Thank you for the response, although it answers a question I did not ask and the original question still is unanswered.
An employee has used PTO time on 12/30/2019.
Because the pay period is 12/28/2019-1/3/2020, Quickbooks is attributing the used PTO time to 2020 instead of 2019.
How can I make it so that the PTO time is attributed to 2019?
Due to the PTO appearing in 2020, all reports of used and available PTO are incorrect.
Good day, @idontwantauserid11.
Thank you for reaching back to the Community.
Quickbooks, generating PTO time base on the pay period you have input. Since you have mentions that the pay period is, 12/28/2019-1/3/2020 that's the reason why 2020 is appearing on the reports. We can change the setting of your pay period to attribute to 2019.
