ADP Manual Check entry reconcile to Bank

One of the ADP journal entry line for payroll is manual checks we wrote not using ADP live check, but we used ADP quickcalc so we can have the proper taxes deducted as well as included in our employee's W2.  On the exported ADP payroll JE to Quickbook, the manual check entry is a lumpsum net pay (or take home pay) to my checking account.  How do I reconcile with my checking account? because I see checks are cashed but I cannot match to the ADP payroll JE for manual checks.

For example: 3 employees manual check

John Net pay: $1000

Joe Net pay: $500

Jay Net pay: $500

Total Net pay: $2000

ADP JE for manual check:

CR Checking, $2000

Bank Transaction:

John cashed: $1000

Joe cashed: $500

Jay cashed:  $500

Total: $2000

It seems like I cannot select above 3 bank transactions and match to ADP payroll manual check entry.  What am I missing?

Thanks for your help.

ADP Manual Check entry reconcile to Bank

Hello there, @CindyK2.

I appreciate you for providing complete details about how you've recorded your manual checks. I'm here to make sure you're able to reconcile your checking account to keep track of your business accuracy.

Currently, matching 3 bank transactions to your one lumpsum ADP payroll journal entry is unavailable. You'll need to exclude your bank transactions and manually reconcile the journal entry from your checking account.

Here's how to exclude:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select the blue tile for the checking account you want to review.
  3. In the For Review tab, click the box beside the bank transaction to exclude.
  4. Choose Exclude Selected from the Batch actions drop-down.

Those excluded transactions will be listed on the Excluded tab for your reference. I've attached a screenshot below for your reference.

Once done, open your checking account register to manually reconcile the journal entry. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Locate the checking account register.
  4. Select View register under the Action column.
  5. In the Reconciliation status column, click the box until the "R" status appears.
  6. Click Save.

Kindly refer to the screenshots below for your visual reference.

After the process, you can pull up a reconciliation report. This helps you fix any differences when reconciling for the following month. You can refer to this article for the detailed steps: How do I view, print, or export a reconciliation report?.

Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help.

ADP Manual Check entry reconcile to Bank

Thanks for your response. I ended up adjusting ADP manual check journal entry line to break down each manual check amount so that I can reconcile against the bank transactions.
