Billable time entries are not adding to the invoice (new QBO format)

Hello! I'm having an issue where employee's time entries are marked as "billable", yet when I try to create an invoice the billable time doesn't come up. I appreciate your help and advice.

Thanks for brining your question forward here in the Community, Anya-L.

I want to make sure you're able to add billable time to invoices in QuickBooks Online.

If employee billable time isn't showing in QuickBooks Online, I recommending first checking your time tracking settings to ensure "Allow time to be billable" is turned on. Also, verify that the specific time entries are marked as billable, have a billable service item assigned, and are not already on a previous invoice.

Here's how check and enable time tracking settings:

1. Click the Gear icon, Account and settings, and the Time tab.
2. In the "Timesheet" section, click Edit.
3. Ensure the Allow time to be billable setting is checked.
4. Click Save and Done

MorganB, it didn't work. All the settings are checked for the proper billable time capture, but the invoice is not capturing it.

Thanks for giving that a try and getting back to me, Anya-L.

To rule out any browser related issues I recommend clearing the cache as an initial troubleshooting step. The cache is in place to collect frequently used data. If it becomes too full it can potentially cause certain viewing and performance errors within the system. Clearing the cache will remove anything that's preventing the settings from being updated. Here's how to get this done in Chrome for example:

  1. At the top right, select the More icon.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Privacy and security.
  4. Select Cookies and other site data.
  5. Select See all cookies and site data.
  6. Type “intuit” in the search bar to find Intuit cookies.
  7. Select Remove all shown or the trash can icon.
  8. Restart Google Chrome for the changes to take effect.
