Better t enter each vendor invoice as a Bill, then Pay Bills, select which to pay and create check. If vendor is set up for DD then DD will be processed
It's not a bill. I am trying to pay a contractor a direct deposit and I can only enter 4 different line items and can't expand past that, is that all QBO allows? AGAIN THIS IS NOT A BILL... I AM TRYING TO PAY A CONTRACTOR DIRECT DEPOSIT, yes there is a butt to add a line item but I can only do 4 line items. I have contractors that may do 8 jobs in a week, therefore I need 8 line items.
Yes, you can add up to 4 line items when paying a contractor with direct deposit, Meisroofing.
You may need to create a second payment for the remaining line items. Unlike writing a check, expense, or bill, the system lets you add more than 4 line items by just clicking Add lines.
Please check this article for more details about contractor direct deposit: Contractor direct deposit for QuickBooks Online Payroll and QuickBooks Full Service Payroll.

So this is it, cut multiple direct deposits because QBO only allows 4 line items? I sure wished we never switched to QBO, it has too many restrictions, glitches and lacks, and good luck getting a tech that can support problems that customers are having... HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER HERE. Thank you!
I agree. We have the same problem. I wish someone would explain why you can only add 4 line items to a direct deposit but unlimited on a paper check? It makes no sense. And "just do a second direct deposit" is an inadequate fix. QBO should address this problem.
Thanks for joining this thread, pigvet.
I can certainly understand how an ability to add more than 4 line items to direct deposits could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.

I am having the same issue! I have my contracted help working on lots of different clients throughout the week and need to track it. having to pay them in multiple pays is NOT the answer. That is crazy and doesn't make my firm look professional.
Yes QBO needs to get this figured out. I pay my Independent Contractors via DD and I always need more than 4 line items. This seems like a simple fix. Please get this figured out.
