Hi there, evargas.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), we cannot directly sort our reports or transactions by service date. As a workaround, we have to create a custom field. Please note that the custom field feature is only available to Essential, Plus, and Advanced. In QBO Essential and Plus, we can only create three custom fields for our sales transactions.
Follow these steps to create custom fields:
- Go to the Gear icon.
- Choose Custom fields.
- Select the Add field.
- Enter Service Date as the Name and tick the All sales forms box.
- If you want this to show in printed form then toggle Print on form.
- Click Save.
If you want to filter your sales transactions by service date, perform the steps:
- Go to the All sales page.
- On the Action column, select the Gear icon.
- Click the Service Date to filter the transaction.
- Select Save as default.
However, if you're referring to your reports, here's how:
- Go to the Reports page, and search a report.
- On the upper right corner of the report, click Settings.
- Choose Show more and tick the Service Date box.
Nonetheless, if you're implying to a different type of QBO feature or transaction that you want to sort by service date, may I know the specifics of it? This way, I'll be able to provide you with accurate resolutions. I'll patiently wait for your response on this.
