Can you import payroll entries into QuickBooks if you don't use an account numbering system

Currently, the option to import payroll entries is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. We can only import bank data, customers, vendors, chart of accounts, products/services, and invoices as of now. That being said, you'll want to consider manually entering the paychecks you create outside of QuickBooks via journal entry.

Alternatively, you can visit our QuickBooks App Center to find a third-party application that can import payroll transactions into the program. You may also follow these simple steps in searching the app if you're inside QuickBooks Online:

Select Apps from the sidebar menu.
Go to the Find Apps tab.
Enter a keyword in the search bar or click the Browse category button to filter the results.

Do you know if it's possible to import payroll data into Quickbooks Online now? I see this thread is a couple of years old so I'm looking for current information. I work for a 3rd party payroll processor and have a client that is using Quickbooks Online. They want their payroll data to import into Quickbooks Online. We can provide an Excel file for them. Is this possible?

For now, you can only import bank data, customers, vendors, charts of accounts, products and services, and invoices to QuickBooks Online (QBO). You'll want to use a third-party application so you can transfer your data to QBO. You can search for an app and check its ratings to make sure to choose the right app for your business needs.
