Direct Deposit payroll payments synced with QuickBooks Online appear in list of checks to print

We use QuickBooks payroll and all of our employees are set up for direct deposit.  After we export the payroll from the payroll program to QuickBooks Online, the direct deposit payroll disbursements end up on the print checks list as if they were waiting to be printed on check stock. How do I prevent this from happening so I do not have to manually deselect all of the exported payroll checks when I want to run manual checks to pay vendors?

Let's get this working so you don't have to print the Direct Deposit paychecks,  Ralphster54.

If you're moving from IOP to QBO, there's an export settings that will prevent the Direct Deposit paychecks to be listed as to print after exporting them . Here's how:

  1. Go to the Setup tab, then select Preferences.
  2. Select QuickBooks Online from the software drop down list.
  3. Log in to the correct account when prompted.
  4. Follow the succeeding prompts until you reached the the section where you see the Export Preferences.
  5. Scroll-down to the Printing Employee Paychecks section.
  6. Select the first part that says "I will print paychecks using Intuit Online Payroll, write them by hand, or use direct deposit".
  7. Select Export.

Once done, check the newly exported paychecks to see if the transactions are no longer tagged as something that you still need to print.

Feel free to take a look at these articles in case you need more details about the payroll transactions that you made:
