Does anyone know how to edit an employer contribution entry on an employee's cumulative paystub?

It's nice to have you here on the Community page, @pam68.

I knew the steps on how to modify an employer's contribution to an employee's paycheck. I'm here to share them with you.

To get started, you need to update the employer's contribution from the employee's record to correct the amount.

Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account, then select Employees from the Payroll tab.
  2. Click on the employee's name from the list.
  3. Tap on the pencil icon beside Pay. Then scroll down to the number 5 or deductions section.
  4. Hit on the pencil icon beside the contribution type.
  5. Adjust the amount under the Company-paid contribution section.
  6. Select OK.

After that, you need to delete the paycheck, then recreate it with the correct employer contribution. For your guide, you can open these articles:

Also, here's an article you can read more about setting up company contributions in QuickBooks Online.

Does anyone know how to edit an employer contribution entry on an employee's cumulative paystub?

HI Angelyn,

I've set up the company contribution biweekly deduction of $961, so roughly $25K/yr.  However, my gross income is higher than estimate so I wanted to max out the 25% company 401K contribution.  I had my administrator maxed out the contribution, so the final amount was over $4K.  I forgot to edit the amount on the employee set up, so the paycheck showed the deducted amount of $961, but in reality, it's supposed to be the $4K+.  How do fix this?  Voiding the check will affect the payroll record?
