Does QBO payroll use Bank of America to move payroll DD for employees that bank at smaller banks? I noticed a couple of my employees DD accounts are different that what

I noticed a couple of my employees direct deposit accounts say "Bank of America" instead of the original accounts that were set up. They are still getting their payroll money though. Does QBO use BOA to move payroll DD funds when your employee banks at a smaller bank?

Thanks for getting in touch with the Community, Kbents.

When using direct deposit with QuickBooks Online Payroll, funds are sent from the account you connected when setting your company up for direct deposit.

Here's how to check which account you're currently using:

  1. Use the Gear (⚙️) icon.
  2. Go to Payroll Settings.
  3. Find your Bank Accounts section and click its Pencil (✏️) icon.

If you'd like to change the account used for direct deposits, you can do so anytime:

  1. From your Bank Accounts section, click Update, then Add new bank account.
  2. Search for the bank's name. You may be asked to enter your online banking credentials, otherwise choose Enter bank info manually and save the changes when you're finished entering its details.
  3. Select Accept and Submit.

I've also included a couple detailed resources about working with direct deposit which may come in handy moving forward:

I'll be here to help if there's any additional questions. Have an awesome day!

Hello there, Kbents.

I know it isn't easy to deal with stuff like this, and it makes sense that helping you correct the bank account and keep all your accounts secure is a top priority.

I would like to verify if you've tried following the instructions suggested by my colleague above? Those steps will help you use the original accounts you've set up. Still, I recommend following them. If you have other challenges while following the information shared, any specific errors or details would be much appreciated. This would help us provide you with accurate information and solution.

On the other hand, if you're experiencing the same outcome, it's best to give our phone specialists a call. They have the tools to look into your account, see the status of your employee's direct deposit payroll, and ensure the security of your account. Here's how:

  1. Go to the (?) Help icon
  2. Enter Talk to a human (when prompted). Click Contact us.
  3. Choose either Chat or Callback.
