exiting contractor has a new W9 how do i replace the old one on the system, there's not option to add/edit or delete the W9 on the documents tab

How do I update the W9 document for an existing contractor? the system has no way to edit/add/delete on the documents tab and the edit function on the details tab only allows updates to contact info and EIN

Let me give you the details on what you can do for your contractor's W-9, @angieglover.

Currently, QuickBooks Online (QBO) does not allow you to edit the W-9 form in the documents tab. If you need to make any changes to your W-9, be sure to do so before your employer or client files your 1099 with the IRS.

I recommend that you advise your contractor to update their info at any time in their account, and QuickBooks will automatically update it in your account.

For a detailed explanation, please see this article: Invite a contractor to add their tax info.

Moreover, here’s a helpful guide to help you prepare them smoothly when tax season arrives: Create and file 1099s using QuickBooks Online.
