I understand this wasn't an easy process for you, @Kurt3.
Let me share information about exporting QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP) data to QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. Before anything else, make sure that QBDT for MAC is in the latest release version. Once done, you can now proceed to the process of exporting and importing. Here's how:
- On your QBOP company, click on the Gear icon and select Payroll Settings.
- Hit the Edit icon from the Export field.
- On the Export preferences page, select QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
- Hit Continue.
- Review the details. Hit Done.
- Then, go back to the Export field and click the Export transactions option.
- Click OK.
- You'll see the .iif file at the bottom of your browser window. Don't open the file, save it first on your folder. However, if the .iif file does not appear at the bottom, you'll need to check your downloads folder.
If you're done, you can now import the .iif file to QBDT for MAC. I'll show you how:
- Create a backup of your company file.
- Go to the File menu.
- Hit Import.
- Click From IIF Files, then import your IIF file.
The Community also wants to ensure that you have handy sources that you can bookmark for future use. You can visit our QuickBooks Desktop for Mac Help page. The site has a lot of helpful articles available including video tutorials that will guide you on your QuickBooks tasks.
Just leave a comment below. I'd like to know if you're able to export and import data seamlessly. Take care!
