Exporting payroll to QB Desktop for Macs-where did they go?

We just ran payroll after a recent QB update and after exporting the files to QB Desktop for Macs, we couldn't find them. They were not in the QB file that usually opens after you have imported the .iif files. After a bit of a panic, they were located in the computer's downloads file. Is this something new? Can we change where the exported files land?

Exporting payroll to QB Desktop for Macs-where did they go?

I appreciate the information you've shared regarding the difficulties faced during the data transfer, @officemanager07. I'll ensure you can find the files you imported into QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac.

When you export the .IFF files from another QuickBooks program, they will appear in the Downloads folder in your system. Thus, it's also the same folder you want to select when you import files to your QBDT for Mac company. Also, please note that the option to reroute the export folder to your preferred location is unavailable.

If files don't show, you can contact our Customer Care Team so they can help you locate the exported files and have them added to your Desktop for Mac company. Refer to this page for the contact details: Get help with QuickBooks products and services.

On the other hand, I'm adding this article to learn more about importing data inside QBDT for mac: Import data into QuickBooks for Mac.

I'm available to assist you in handling data whenever you need help. Moreover, if you have other questions about the program, I'll make it my top priority to lend a helping hand. Keep safe.
