We have closed our business and I'd like to finalize my payroll for the year. The 2018 W-2/W-3 is showing as not available yet. Is there a way to get that update so I can cancel my payroll subscription and save my $500?

I'll be happy to explain how to cancel your payroll account since your business has been closed.
During the cancellation process, you will be asked if your end of year taxes need to be filed. Make sure you select the appropriate option so that your W2s and other end of the year taxes are filed properly for you.

This is not what I was told when my business closed and I did not renew my payroll account when it expired in September. I was W2 capability would be available in December at which time I could opt to activate my payroll account in order to process W2's. Then I would cancel again for the final time. Please tell me what the correct process is?
To further assist you on how to activate your service, I recommend calling our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. They have additional tools to pull up your account and active your subscription in a monthly basis and cancel the auto-renewal after.
