GA Withholding Account not recognized by Desktop

I have a new employee in GA and I added my GA DOL Employer Account Number in Desktop and it is not recognized.  It believes it should be a 7-digit number, followed by a hyphen and two letters.  It is actually only a 6-digit number.  This is preventing me from e-filing my taxes.  Any way to override this, or am I stuck with manual processing?

GA Withholding Account not recognized by Desktop

I understand how this has caused delays in e-filing your taxes, especially with new hires and important submissions on the line, @SDH407. I’ll share my insight and recommendations to assist you in correctly adding your GA DOL Employer Account Number to QuickBooks Desktop. This way you can complete your e-filing without having to resort to manual processing.

The structure of your state's withholding number typically consists of seven digits. However, as requirements can vary by state, I highly recommend contacting your state tax agency directly to verify the specific format and any additional guidelines related to your withholding number.

Once ready, you can set up an e-file and e-pay in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced.

Moreover. I'd like to confirm that there's no way to override the requirements.

In addition to this, I encourage you to check out these resources that will walk you through the e-filing steps and ensure you remain compliant. You'll also discover how to run, print, and customize payroll reports, giving you better insights into your payroll data.

If you have additional questions or need clarification about e-filing your taxes or anything related to payroll, don’t hesitate to reach out. My team and I are here for you, ready to help you find the right solutions. Have a good one.
