Anyone have a quick fix from keeping employees SSN from showing through the return address window? I am using the preprinted forms with envelopes ordered from intuit. SSN box is at the top of the form and shows through the return address window. I tried raising it to tape/staple it in place - but there is so much extra white space at the top of the form each one will have to be trimmed. I also tried putting a post a note over the SSN - but it was still visible, at least through the standard yellow post-it.
Thanks for checking in with us, KRyan1.
The employee Social Security Number (SSN) will show through the return address window when printing the W-2 forms on a pre-printed form. Then, the option to truncate the SSN on a W-2 form is unavailable. QuickBooks will automatically generate the Social Security information once processed.

These steps don't work for W-2s. It is time for 2023 and we still cannot truncate SS numbers from W-2s.
This doesn't work on W-2s and Intuit still hasn't resolved the issue.
Hello Bfolsom, I would like to provide you with some helpful information regarding your matter.
In QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP) and QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), we do not mask or truncate the copies of the records. However, the copies of Workforce have masked information. On the other hand, the copies printed from QB tax center, Archive, or Resources, have full SSN on them.
