How can we run certified payroll on QuickBooks online? I know it’s offered for the desktop version but I do everything on my QuickBooks online.

Welcome to the Online Community. You’re right, QuickBooks Desktop Payroll offers the Certified Payroll Report.

In the online version, you can open the Time Cost by Employee and Payroll Summary Reports to get the data you need to process a Certified Payroll Report. The process is as easy as 1,2,3.

1. Tap the Projects menu on the left panel to see the complete list.
2. From there, go to the Project/Customer section and select the project/customer to open the All Projects page.
   
3. Choose the Project Reports tab and select the Time cost by employee or vendor.
   
4. Tap the View link to see the data.
5. To tailor the information, click the Customize button.
6. If you want to transfer it, simply tap the Export menu in the upper right.
7. Perform the same process to get the remaining data for your other employees.

To pull up the Payroll Summary Report:

1. Go to the Reports tab on the left panel and enter Payroll Summary by Employee in the Find report by name field.
   
2. You can use the Date Range drop-down to filter the period.
   
3. Once done, hit the Run Report button.

The certified payroll reports are only available in the QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced or QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Assisted. With that, QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll subscriptions don't have that feature.
