How do I access Time Tracking from QBO Desktop View?

I prefer the Desktop View of QBO but can't find me way to Track Time (the only time tracking we're set up for) better than the standard screen.

How do I access Time Tracking from QBO Desktop View?

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community again, jack Thompson. Please know that we aim to deliver customer satisfaction at all times and address an issue as soon as possible. With this, may I ask for more information on the part you're referring to? Or are you attempting to access your QBO via an app in order to access Time tracking? Or specific issues you encounter. I appreciate any further details so I can present accurate information.

For now, I'm adding this article to see different details on which QuickBooks Online mobile app features are supported on mobile devices: Compare mobile app features.

Don't hesitate to click the Reply button below and add extra details about your concern, jack Thompson. I'm always around to help. Have a good day!

How do I access Time Tracking from QBO Desktop View?

We use an outside payroll service and only book time through Track Time in QBO. (See first attachment)

In QBO I prefer to operate in Desktop View but the Track Time icon seems to have been replaced by Enter Time which isn't available to us in our QBO setup.

Thank you for adding screenshots, Jack. I was able to get a clear picture of your concerns.

You can use the Enter time option instead. I'm here to share more information about it.

Some terminologies change when you move from the standard view to the Desktop view. That said, you can still track time using the Enter time button.

I've also added these links as your guide in tracking time:

Please let me know if you have further questions about time tracking. I'm always here to help you.

For whatever reason, Enter Time does not work for us.

We don't subscribe to QB Time - might that be the case?

I appreciate you for getting back here in the thread, @jack. I'll point you in the right direction to sort this out so you can use the time-tracking feature.

You'll want to reach out to our Customer Care Team. This way, they can assign a representative to check your current company settings to determine the root cause of the issue. I'll gladly input the steps below to get you going. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?).
  3. Select either tab to get started:
  • Assistant: Get quick, personalized answers. Select a suggested option, or type a question or topic you need help with. If you decide you need further help, you can still Talk to a human.
  • Search: Search the QuickBooks Online knowledge base directly, or select Contact Us and choose a way to connect with us:
    • Start a chat with a support expert.
    • Get a callback from the next available expert.

For more details, please see this article: QuickBooks Online Support.

Also, if you're using the QuickBooks Desktop app, please know that this app is no longer supported. It may be why some features inside the program won't work on your end.

In addition, here's an article to learn more about entering weekly timesheet in QBO: Enter a weekly timesheet in QuickBooks Online.

@jack, it's been a pleasure to have you here today. Don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you need further assistance with your QuickBooks-related concerns. Take care!
