How do I add Commissions to an employee? I am trying to bring 1st information into online QuickBooks

Hello there, love2serve.

I've got steps to ensure you can add commissions to an employee in QuickBooks Online smoothly.

First off, please know that you can pay commission to your employees as their main salary or in addition to their regular pay in the program. Then, make sure to follow the federal and state laws.

I recommend going to the Pay types section in the employee's information so you start the process.

Here's how if you need to add the commission as employee's salary:

  1. Click the Payroll menu and choose Employees tab.
  2. Choose a particular employee.
  3. From Pay types, select Start or Edit.
  4. In the Pay type dropdown arrow, choose Commission only.
  5. Click Save.

As additional pay, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Payroll, then Employees.
  2. Choose your employee.
  3. From Pay types, click Start or Edit.
  4. In the Common Pay types section, choose Commission.
  5. You can change the Commission name if you want. Click the pencil icon ✎ to change it.
  6. Choose Save.

In case you need a specific report that includes employee info, wages, taxes, and deductions, you can read this article: Run payroll reports.

Let me know how it goes in the comment section, as I want to ensure that you can successfully bring up your employees. Take care, love2serve.
