If you're using paper for your paystubs, I recommend choosing the Paystubs on plain paper, so you won't have a problem aligning your payroll data. Afterward, you may now follow the outlined reference below to download it within the program:

1. Go to Payroll and select Employees.

I am trying to submit to a system for proof of income, however the system says I cannot use the print to pdf functionality on my payroll system, as far as I can tell, this is the only way. Do you have any recommendations?

I can only submit a digital copy, when attempting to upload the paystub pdf to the software, it wont accept it because it was downloaded with the "print to pdf" functionality.

If you haven't tried it, I suggest converting your PDF file into image formats like PNG, JPEG, TIFF, etc. Here's how to do that:

1. Open your PDF in Adobe Pro and choose the file.
2. Export it to the new file format by going to the right pane and clicking the Export PDF tool.
3. Choose an image format type (e.g. JPEG file, TIFF, etc.).
4. Click Export.
5. In the Save As dialog box, save your file.

Additionally, you can reach out to your HR or employer for an official digital version of your pay stubs. If they email it to you, save the attached document. This version is in a standard format that should meet the requirements.

If you're still having issues, try using a different PDF creation tool to convert the document. And if all else fails, don't hesitate to contact the support team of the software you're submitting to. They can provide specific or alternative formats that's acceptable for their software.
