how do you get a report on new hire

I have a notification that quickbooks was unable to complete my texas new hire report for one of my employees, where do I get the report and how do I file it?

You can manually generate and file the report to meet state requirements, Edith.

 

To generate a report, make sure the employee's details are correct in QuickBooks, including their Gender, Birth date, and Hire date. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to My Apps, and click Payroll.
  2. Select your employee on the Employees section.
  3. Update your employee's Gender and Birth date on the Personal info by clicking Edit.
  4. Then, update the Hire date by clicking Edit on the Employment details.

While QuickBooks Online Payroll generally files new hire forms automatically within two weeks of the hire date. You will need to visit your state's official website to access the correct form and file it directly. Also, please note that QuickBooks doesn’t handle new hire reporting for independent contractors, so you’ll need to contact the state for specific instructions.

I can see all of that but I don't actually see where to, how to print the report. Thank you for the visual. The website says to make sure the info is correct 'below" and there is not "below" Your visual and step by step was very helpful but how do I actually print it. I think I put a note in it as well that explained a delay.

Having the option to create and print the new hire forms is a great idea, Edith. However, the feature to do so in QBO is unavailable.

 

Once you’ve created the employee profile or your employee has completed their new hire forms, the new hire forms are automatically sent to the IRS or your state tax agency. With that being said, we’re unable to view the report for new hire employee reports in QBO.

 

If you need a copy of your employee's new hire report, you’ll need to reach out to your state agency or the IRS for the I-9 forms that are automatically submitted by QuickBooks.

The problem is that quickbooks was unable to process and the help site says I can print out the report. That is why I noted that site as not helpful. Thank you for your time,
