How does echeck work?

Hello there, Creevesm.

I'd be glad to help and share some information on how eCheck works.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), eCheck relies on the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system that facilitates batches of electronic funds transfers (EFTs). With this, it allows banks to exchange transaction details, communicating what to debit, what to credit, and everything in between.

Moreover, it's a simple way for your business to accept electronic payments from customers that can potentially improve the efficiency of your payment process. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center.
  2. Go to Processing Tools and select Accept an eCheck.
  3. Complete the fields.
  4. Choose I have a signed authorization or My customer is on the phone.
  5. Select Submit.

Furthermore, I've added a resource you can browse for you to be able to get answers to common questions about processed payments in QuickBooks: QuickBooks Payments FAQ

Keep me posted if you have additional queries with eChecks or anything else about QuickBooks. I'd be glad to assist you at any time. Keep safe and have a good one.
