How to do I back date the account from which my payroll was paid

Hi there, @advancerecovery.

Are you trying to backdate an old paycheck in QuickBooks Online Payroll?

If so, you can create an unscheduled payroll check for the current pay period all the way back to pay periods dating 6 months ago. Here's how:

  1. Select Workers and click Employees.
  2. Select Run payroll.
  3. Find the employee you want to pay, and then select Create another check.
  4. Enter employee compensation, including any salary adjustments, vacation or sick hours, and other payment types.
  5. Confirm the pay period and check date.
  6. Select Preview Payroll, and then select Submit payroll.

You can also run the Paycheck List report to view all the paycheck that you've created in QuickBooks. Just go to Reports and search for Paycheck List.

How to do I back date the account from which my payroll was paid

How does that work with taxes? Does Quickbooks Payroll pay into the next quarter or do the amend the previous?

Thanks for joining on this thread, @Thistle13.

QuickBooks will post the taxes based on the date that you selected. However, QBO doesn't support amended tax forms at the moment. You can directly reach out to the IRS or to your tax agencies on how you can file your amended form.

You can also check for more details the correct and amends forms section in this article: File quarterly tax forms.
