I converted from QuickBooks Desktop to Quickbooks Online. Why are my payroll numbers in Quickbooks online not the same as the payroll numbers that I had in Desktop?

Paychecks will transfer as regular checks after converting from Desktop to the online version. Because of this, QBO does not automatically follow the last paycheck number from the Desktop version when running payroll in the online version.

You'll need to manually type in the next paycheck number when processing the first payroll in QBO. Then, the system will automatically follow the sequence or succeeding number in the future periods.
