I'm glad you've reached out to us, @paul-schurr. I’ll provide some information as to why your direct deposit status is pending.
Since you’ve process payroll using paper checks for your employee and recently changed to direct deposit, it’ll take two to three business days to confirm and activate your bank account. Your direct deposit status will be confirmed through email.
There are some factors you need to consider why your status is pending. I’ve listed some scenarios below:
If the employee's information has already been entered and the status is still pending, you can review the test transaction and validate it in QuickBooks as well as with your bank. You can verify the amount to be input by contacting your bank. On your bank statement, the fee will display as QuickBooks: Verify Bank or Intuit: Verify Bank.

If the New payroll tasks button is not visible on your end, we can still verify the test transaction through Settings or the Gear icon. I'll show you how:
