You can run the Employee Details report, change the employee address, and then reassign your employee to a different state. To do this, go to the Company settings.
If you encounter the same scenario, contact our Payroll support representative. Our phone support will be able to view your payroll setting through a screen-sharing session. They can then confirm whether or not this is an ongoing problem.

Check their details. If you see an employee assigned to MA, you can refer to the steps provided by my colleague above to change the work location.
If confirmed that there is no employee assigned to MA, I highly recommend reaching out to our Payroll support team to help you remove that state. They can pull up your account in a safe and use a specific tool to resolve this. Here's how:
