The Form 1040-ES is unavailable in QBO. You can consider subscribing to QBSE to record the federal personal tax payment.
The program is designed for self-employed individuals who are considered freelancers or independent contractors and file a form Schedule C with their tax returns. I invite you to visit this site for an overview of the product’s features and benefits: QuickBooks Self-Employed.
After subscribing, let’s key in the transactions and categorized them accordingly. Then, record the estimated tax payments.
- Go to the Transactions menu on the left panel to choose the Add transaction option.
- This will expand a line where you can key in the tax payment.
- Enter the fiscal year in the Date field.
- In the Enter a description box, type quarterly federal tax payment.
- Make sure to type the correct amount.
- Choose Federal Estimated tax as the category.
- Click Save to keep the changes.
