Thanks for visiting the Community today, flynn-joseph.

The Form 1040-ES is unavailable in QBO. You can consider subscribing to QBSE to record the federal personal tax payment.

The program is designed for self-employed individuals who are considered freelancers or independent contractors and file a form Schedule C with their tax returns. I invite you to visit this site for an overview of the product’s features and benefits: QuickBooks Self-Employed.

After subscribing, let’s key in the transactions and categorized them accordingly. Then, record the estimated tax payments.

  1. Go to the Transactions menu on the left panel to choose the Add transaction option.
  2. This will expand a line where you can key in the tax payment.
  3. Enter the fiscal year in the Date field.
  4.  In the Enter a description box, type quarterly federal tax payment.
  5. Make sure to type the correct amount.
  6. Choose Federal Estimated tax as the category.
  7. Click Save to keep the changes.

The following article covers all the information about the process: Pay federal estimated quarterly taxes in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Additionally, this guide contains resources to get started using the program including the processing of tax forms, categorizing transactions, etc: Self-help articles.

Keep me posted if you still need help when working in QBSE. I’m more than happy to assist further. Enjoy the rest of the day.
