I'll provide some details on how direct deposit works in QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP), Brenda.
In the normal process, after your employees fill out, and sign the authorization form for bank verification, you'll have to add direct deposit to your employees for the check to be processed successfully. To do so, follow the steps outlined below:
- Go to the Payroll menu, then Employees.
- Select your employee.
- From the Payment method, select Start or Edit.
- From the Payment method dropdown, select Direct deposit. You can also access the direct deposit authorization form here if your employee hasn't signed one.
- Choose a Direct deposit method (Splits can be done as a dollar amount or as a percentage.):
- Direct deposit to one account
- Direct deposit to two accounts
- Direct deposit with balance as a check
- Enter the routing and account numbers from the employee's direct deposit voided check and select Save.
