There is not a balance due.

If I have already paid the unemployment tax in full how do I delete a balance due.

 

I'll share details on how you can remove the balance due in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @williams-ent.

 

First, could you tell me more about how you process the unemployment tax payment? Did you do this outside your QuickBooks program? If so, you still have to record it in the system to remove the balance due. 

 

Once payment is done outside the program it won't sync directly to the system, so you'll have to manually record it. Here's how:

 

  1. Select Payroll tax by going to the Taxes menu.
  2. Next, click the Payments tab.
  3. From there, locate the unemployment tax that has a balance due and select the Pay button.
  4. When ready, click Record payment.

Then, to easily review all of the payments you made, you can run the Payroll tax payments report. I'll guide you on how:

 

  1. Navigate to the Reports menu.
  2. Next, type Payroll tax payments in the Search bar.
  3. Click it to open.
