Import IIF File for Payroll on Desktop

We use an app for our employees to clock in/out from called BambooHR.  They do not sync with QuickBooks desktop so I believe I have found a software to convert the Excel report to IIF file.  My question is, how do I upload the IIF file for PAYROLL? I haven't found an answer to that question on the board so wanted to ask.  Please help

Import IIF File for Payroll on Desktop

It's a pleasure to have you here in the Community. I'll share some details about importing IIF data in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Before anything else, I understand how accomplishing this feat can help you progress with your business. Upon checking my resources, please know that importing an IIF file for your payroll is unavailable in QBDT.

Also, since the file you're trying to get into your company is a converted file from a third-party app, you'll want to reach out to the app's technical support. This way, they can help you set it up so you can have those data available inside your QBDT company.

For more information, please see this article: Export, import, and edit IIF files.

Another way to get around this is by manually entering the information you have into your company. In case you wish to continue with this method, I'll gladly input the process below. To get you going, these are the steps:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Desktop company.
  2. Go to the Employees menu, and then click Enter time.
  3. Select Time/Enter Single Activity.

Additionally, here's an article to help you set your employees for time tracking: Set up time tracking.

You can also visit this page to learn about adding more details to your report in QBDT: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Feel free to mention me in the Comment section in case you need help performing tasks inside your company. I'll make sure to get back to you as soon as possible. Take care, and have a nice day!
