In pay employees, I have two red exclamation marks which indicate the task was not completed but it was. how do I get rid of those marks
Let's get this fixed, connee.
Since you've already completed the task yet the Taskbar still shows a red exclamation mark, you'll want to update your QuickBooks Desktop. This procedure helps fix common issues within the software.
Here's how to manually update your software:

That will do. Please let me know how it goes. I'm here whenever you need help in completing tasks in QuickBooks Desktop. Take care and stay safe always!
I had the same issue on OLD submitted payments from years back. I tried both of the QuickBooks moderator's solutions, and it did NOT take care of the issue. The payments STILL show as "Submitted to Intuit" versus "Agency Accepted". These payments cleared my client's bank account, but somehow got lost in the Intuit system clearing. If anyone knows of a way to clear these old e-pays that did not show accepted, please let me know. If there is no way to do that, Intuit needs to figure out something that can clear those when you know they went through. I always have the red exclamation mark on the "Pay Liabilities" on the "Home" page because of this. It is annoying!
Hello there, Carolyn5555. I understand how bothersome it is to see a red exclamation mark on the pay liabilities and home page.
Please know that sometimes, even though you have paid those liabilities, they may appear overdue or red.
Here are the several reasons why it occurs:
You can check out this article for more information and how to correct them: Fix overdue or red scheduled liabilities in QuickBooks Desktop.
On the other hand, since the red exclamation mark shows on your home page, you need to update the QBDT and payroll tax table, as suggested by my colleague above.
If you followed all the suggested steps above and the issue persists, I recommend contacting our payroll support team for further guidance. They have all the necessary tools to fix your concern.
Additionally, if you want to look closely at your business's finances, you can run a payroll report. It will provide a detailed report of your company's payroll expenses, which includes employee salaries, bonuses, taxes, and other related costs.
