After migrating from QBD several prior employees (with paychecks this year) show as incomplete. I review the w/h tax information but everything seems in order.
Can someone point me to a resolution so I can start payroll this Sunday
Thanks
Good day, Nazcar.
I can share some information about how your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company file is converted to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
To start, you can transfer much of the information from your company file. However, some pieces of information won't convert or transfer automatically with your file.
In this case, some payroll info doesn’t transfer because QBDT has more payroll features. This is how your payroll data will convert in QBO.
You'd want to download your Payroll Summary report from your QuickBooks Desktop account. It displays a comprehensive report of wages, deductions, and tax info, totaled by employee or period. You can use the data in verifying the payroll information entered in QuickBooks Online.
Lastly, you can use these articles as references to learn more ways of handling your QuickBooks data:

Hi Leisyl,
Thank you for responding to my post. I have a Summary Report, but the issue is that QB does not tell me what information is missing or where to add/correct any issue. The only indication that something is wrong is a yellow (i) on several former employees, but no instructions of place where to go from here. When I edit the Tax withholding information, everything is correct. Nothing is missing there.
I appreciate your support, and hope you can figure out what may be causing it based on the information. But happy to share additional details if helpful.
Best
NazCar
I appreciate your immediate response and sharing additional details, Nazcar.
You're already on the right track in downloading your Payroll Summary report. I'll help you in adding the missing information.
It may take a while to do this, depending on your number of employees. Here's how:
For more details about the process, please see this article: Edit or Change Employee Info in Payroll.
Once everything is set up correctly, you can start running payroll this Sunday.

Dear Charlene,
Unfortunately, the solution you propose does not solve my particular issue. All the information on this page is filled out and seems correct, but I can not remove the (i) flag on the withholding tab. Please see attached screenshots for additional clarity. Something in the background is messing with the withholding and it has nothing to do with the settings of Single or additional withholdings.
I appreciate in advance any additional thoughts you or anyone else in the community may have!
Best,
NazCar
Thanks for getting back to us and for providing a screenshot, Nazcar.
The (i) flag should indicate what's missing on the Withholding tab. You can clear those fields, then re-enter or re-select the information to remove the flag.
If the same issue persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Payroll Team. That way, they can do screen-sharing with you and help check what information is missing on the employee's profile.
To learn what other data aren't imported to QuickBooks Online, please browse this article: Find out how your books will move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.
