Incorrect pay period dates on pay stubs

As stated, I recently checked my last pay stub on here and was horrified to find out that the pay period dates were wrong on every single pay stub. The pay stubs show a pay period of thursday to wednesday, when we actually had a normal pay period from monday to saturday. I need this pay stub for a lawauit and this changed pay period is frustrating my efforts. what is going on with this??

Incorrect pay period dates on pay stubs

Let's modify the pay period to fix this issue, mburns85.

Are you trying to edit a pay period of an existing paycheck or a payroll that's not yet created? No worries, I'll share the steps on how you can update the schedule in your account.

If you have QuickBooks Online Payroll Enhanced:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Payroll Settings.
  2. Proceed to the Payroll and Services section, then select Pay Schedules.
  3. Select Edit next to the pay schedule you want to edit.
  4. Update the pay schedule's info and click OK.

If you're using QuickBooks Online Payroll Full Service, Core, Premium, or Elite:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and proceed to the Employees tab.
  2. Select the employee's name.
  3. Click Edit employee.
  4. Click the drop-down list for How often do you pay [employee]?. Then, select the pay schedule for the employee moving forward. Or, to create a new pay schedule, select Add new and fill out the appropriate fields.
  5. Click OK, then select Done.

Here's an article about this process for more details: Set Up And Manage Payroll Schedules

Also, please take note that the business hours of our Payroll Support Team depend on the type of payroll subscription that you're using. Check out this article for more details on how to reach out to them: Contact Payroll Support.

I'll get right back to this thread if you have follow-up questions.

Incorrect pay period dates on pay stubs

Well see, intuit, thats the problem. The company owner is a scaming, cheating, dirty scumbag who owes me money. I called your little phone number. Your automated phone system does all it can to kick someone off the line. I finally get through to a person and he doesnt want to help, he literally said if I dont provide a client ID, then he doesnt care and hung up on me. Your company is a joke.

People use this financial info for legal records, to do taxes, and in courts, and you have a very real and legal obligation to provide accurate info. Basically what you just admitted is that an owner can modify previous financial records fraudulently by changing the pay period at a later time. This isnt going to work and I insist on someone from this scummy little company get ahold of me.

Until thst happens, I am going to raise hell with any govt agency that will listen. The BBB, the labor dept, the IRS, my state senator, my federal senator, the news station, facebook, my lawyer, and anyone else that will listen.  You oeople are literally helping my boss to fhest me out of money.

No way in hell does the pay period end on the 18th and I get a direct deposit in my account 2 days later. I dont know how my boss was able to change the pay period retroactively, but this isnt going to work, you must change this information to reflect reality.

none of your suggestions allow you to change the actual pay period that was paid out, we need to change the pay period on an paystub that has already been paid so when we submit our payroll remittance you are in the correct pay periods ?  you can do this in desktop but you can't in online ????

Incorrect pay period dates on pay stubs

Hello there, @crystallynn1980. I'm here to help change the pay period of the pay stubs in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QBO, the option to edit the pay period of a processed paycheck is unavailable. As a workaround, you can delete and recreate them. In this process, you'll have to delete the earliest paycheck created up until the payroll in question and recreate them to fix the incorrect pay period.

To start, you can use the Paycheck List report to serve as your guide. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Reports menu and type Paycheck List on the search bar.
  2. Next, set the correct report date.
  3. Then, check the paychecks you need to delete and select Delete.

When finished, recreate the paychecks with the correct pay periods. Refer to the steps below:

  1. Go to the Workers menu and select Employees.
  2. Next, click Run payroll on the upper right, then select the employee.
  3. From there, enter the needed details.
  4. Click Preview payroll, then select Submit payroll.
  5. Print the paychecks by clicking Print pay stubs, then click Finish payroll.

On the other hand, if this is a direct deposit paycheck, you'll need to reach out to our Payroll Support team. They use specific tools to help you fix the pay period in every created paycheck.

For reference in managing payroll in QBO, feel free to read this article: Create and run your payroll.

Also, tracking your employee details, payroll information, and business finances is a breeze in QBO by running payroll reports.

I'm always here ready to lend a hand if you have any other concerns about managing pay stubs in QBO. Feel free to leave a reply below. Have a good one and stay safe.
