I'll ensure to get you back into the business quickly, Asand. Let me provide ways to resolve this issue you've encountered within your QuickBooks Online Desktop app.

In this case, we'll need to reset your app. When you reset your QBO desktop app, it refreshes the local app installation on your computer. Moreover, resetting the app may fix issues you're experiencing, like being unable to access reports or banking features from the menu bar.

Here's how:

  1. Press the Help on the navigation bar at the top.
  2. Choose Reset App Data.
  3. Wait for the process to complete, then close the app.
  4. Make sure to right-click the app and Run as Administrator when re-opening.

Furthermore, if the issue persists, I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling your account. Please refer to this page for the complete process of downloading and using the QuickBooks Online desktop app.

I'm glad to lend a hand today. If you have any other questions or need further assistance managing your accounts, please never hesitate to reach out.

thank you for your quick response.  Unfortunately, resetting the app data, as well as uninstalling/reinstalling did not change the situation.  When I right click on the QB desktop app it does not give me the option to run it as an administrator.

Hello there, everyone.

To resolve this issue, I recommend updating your app to the latest version, as this often addresses such glitches.

Before we begin, could you please share which version of the app you are currently using?

Here's how to update the app:

  1. Open the QuickBooks Online desktop app.
  2. In the menu bar, select File, then select Check for updates.
  3. Follow the prompts to proceed with the update.

Alternatively, uninstalling and reinstalling the app can also prompt an update if one is available.

Let us know if you have other concerns with your QuickBooks Online (QBO) desktop app. We're here to assist you in any way we can.

Hi!

Thanks for your response.

It was a brand new install and

was doing that the first day.

Just to verify, followed your instructions

and it says "Your app is up to date"

Thanks!
