Is anyone else having issues with payroll & Time hours matching up?

I ran Time and exported hours to payroll today. Every employee was shorted 7 to 9 hours. I went back to Time and ran a report, the hours exported were correct. QBO chat said it was a "Time" issue and sent me to them.  Time said it was a "Payroll" issue and said they couldn't help. I've seriously about had it with QBO and their inability to fix issues.

Is anyone else having issues with payroll & Time hours matching up?

Hello there, @AlarmCompany.

Let me share some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue about the hours exported to QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll.

If it's an issue about syncing hours from QuickBooks Time and QBO Payroll, let's view the sync log to find the answer and check if there's an error. I'll show you the steps below:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Time menu, then Overview.
  3. Click Go to classic QuickBooks Time.
  4. Select the QuickBooks dropdown, then View Sync Log.

If there's an error detected, visit this article to fix it: Fix an error when syncing hours between QuickBooks Time and QuickBooks Online. Otherwise, review the pay period of the created paycheck if it matches on the Timesheet.

Moreover, if the pay period matches. Then, the issue may be due to a browser cache-related issue. Your browser saves files to load websites faster on your next visit. Over time, it'll get outdated, which can cause errors in some features and performance issues using the program. Let's perform the basic browser troubleshooting steps to fix this matter.

First, you'll want to restart your browser. Then, try opening your account in a private browser. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to launch a new private window:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If it fixes the issues, go back to the regular browser and clear your browser's cache. Otherwise, you can use another supported browser.

If the issue persists, I suggest contacting once more our QuickBooks Time support team. That way, they securely look into your account in a secure space via a screen-sharing session with you. Visit this link for the support details: Contact QuickBooks Time support.
