The Payroll Service PIN serves as your security code for accessing Payroll Services in QuickBooks, D Cooper.

To set up Direct Deposit (DD), you must first complete your company's payroll setup. During this setup, you will create a Payroll Service PIN, which will serve as your security code and be required each time you submit payroll.

For detailed steps on setting up DD, you can refer to this article: Set up your company payroll for direct deposit.

If the Payroll Service doesn’t prompt you to create a new PIN during the setup, it’s likely that the PIN was either established during your initial Payroll Service setup or that there was a previous payroll setup in place.

Should you find yourself unable to recall your PIN, you can reset it by following these steps:

  1. Download and complete the Direct Deposit PIN reset form.
  2. Obtain a signature from the Primary Principal or Secondary Principal on the form.
  3. Provide a photocopy of the primary or secondary principal’s government-issued ID.
  4. Reach out to QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Support and submit the form and ID via Intuit File Exchange.
  5. Once you receive an email from Intuit Payroll with an update on your request, contact us again so we can assist by generating a new PIN.
