Join nowI failed to update payroll before creating monthly direct deposit paychecks that have been distributed. Now that I’ve installed the update, I believe next month’s payroll will include the proper withholding for both months. However, I submit the federal 941 tax payment monthly. How would I correct this in order to pay this liability? Thank you.
Hi, Steph. I'd be glad to assist you in correcting your payroll tax liability.
You can consider adjusting your payroll liabilities in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to correct your current 941 tax payment. You can follow these steps:
For more detailed guidance, refer to this article: Adjust payroll liabilities in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.
Moving forward, QBDT will automatically adjust the paycheck and upcoming tax liabilities.
After this, you can run a payroll liability balances report to check if the amounts to be paid are correct. You can refer to this article: Run payroll reports.
We'll be here in the Community if you need further assistance adjusting payroll tax liabilities in QBDT. We're committed to offering ongoing support.
