Buy nowNYS-1 rejected for tax period begin date invalid. I don't see where to enter a begin date on the NYS-1 only a payroll end date.
Good evening, @JAJG.
It's great to see you back in the Community!
To clarify a few things, can you provide us with a screenshot of this to review the page you're on? Also, have you filed the NYS-1 within your QuickBooks Desktop account before or is this your first time?
In the meantime, you can review this guide on entering your historical tax payments.
This information will help us determine the next steps you need to take to get this resolved. I'll be waiting for your response!
They have always been filed through QuickBooks
You can enter the begin date in the Box B If amending return, JAJG.
The import routine sets the starting date to either the day after the payroll date on the latest NYS-1 or the first day of quarter from recent payroll data. The default ending date is the last payroll date entered for the quarter. You can check out this article for more details about NYS-1: https://www/tax.ny.gov/pdf/current_forms/wt/nys1i.pdf
If you need further assistance in correcting the tax period begin date, I'd recommend contacting our Live Desktop Payroll Support team. They can pull up your account and provide detailed instructions to resolve the rejected NYS-1.
Once the forms are filed successfully, you can review them in your archives. For reference, you can follow the steps outlined in this article: View your previously filed tax forms and payments.
Feel free to reach out if you need anything else. We're here to help.
This is not an amended return. There is no place to input a beginning date. Payroll end date is prepopulated.
