Hello! We use Paychex to pay our employees, and then manually enter the checks in to Quickbooks. Paychex uses 3 decimal points when calculating Overtime and Doubletime (for hourly employees). However, Quickbooks uses only 2. Is there any way to resolve this? Otherwise I can't get the checks to match Paychecks unless I enter a misc. deduction or reimbursement for the difference.
Furthermore, if anyone knows of a better way to incorporate our Paychex payroll into Quickbooks Desktop instead of manually entering each check (as well as each deduction, taxes, etc), I'm all ears!
Thank you!
Jayme

I understand the importance of allowing you to enter at least three decimal places to match Paychex figures for your employees.
You're right. QuickBooks allows you to enter amounts to two decimal places. To match the figure on Paychex, enter any other deductions or reimbursements.
Paychex is only compatible with the QuickBooks Online product. I recommend contacting their support because they may be able to configure the software to calculate the amount to two decimal places.

If you don't use QuickBooks for payroll, there really isn't any compelling reason to use the Paycheck form to record your paychecks. Instead you could use a standard check form.
That noted, you can use a Commission type item to track earnings where the Rate is entered with up to 5 decimal places. Since you're not using QuickBooks for payroll compliance/reporting, this won't cause any issues.
